Overland's HOSA Students Qualify For International Competition

Students from Overland’s Healthcare Occupations Students of America team (HOSA) competed at the state competition on February 13th and 14th at the Gaylord Rockies. Students from all over the state came together to compete in competitions such as biotechnology, surgical technology, phlebotomy, dentistry and CNA.

Overland students came away with huge success. Julian Parker, 12th grade, took first place in both biotechnology and AP physics. Gabby Enriquez, 12th grade, took second place in surgical technician.

Both Julian and Gabby will be competing in their events at the International Leadership Conference (ILC) coming up on June 17-21.

Pathways at Overland Patient Care Technician Instructor, Matt Landbridge, is looking forward to seeing what Julian and Gabby will come away with at ILC, saying, “I’m very excited for Gabby and Julian’s opportunities at ILC and excited to see what this means for the future of students at Pathways”.

This is just the beginning of the great success our HOSA students will bring to Pathways at Overland opening this fall!
