SNC Engineers Inspire CCIC Students During Engineering Week
In celebration of National Engineering Week, students at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus welcomed professionals from SNC for two days of career-connected learning. More than 25 SNC employees visited CCIC classrooms, sharing insight into engineering careers and demonstrating how classroom learning translates into real-world innovation.
Students across six pathways participated, including Project Management, Aerospace Manufacturing, Airframes and Powerplant, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Plant and Drone Piloting. Engineers representing testing, systems, mechanical, software, system security, manufacturing, project management, and aerospace engineering tailored their presentations to align with current curriculum.

A Collaboration that Drives Learning
SNC partners with organizations including the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in aircraft modification, integration, space technologies, cybersecurity, and unmanned systems. During their visit, engineers discussed how these disciplines intersect, from protecting aircraft systems through cybersecurity to applying AI in engineering design and advanced manufacturing processes.
By aligning presentations to what students are actively studying, SNC helped reinforce key technical concepts while expanding students’ understanding of career pathways in aerospace and engineering fields.
Student Impact and Industry Engagement
Sessions focused on career journeys, collaboration, and problem-solving in high-demand industries. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about education pathways, certifications, and the skills required to succeed in engineering roles.
“At SNC, we believe inspiring the next generation of innovators starts with connecting students to real-world opportunities and role models. By sharing our career journeys and experiences during events like Engineers Week, we hope to ignite curiosity and demonstrate how classroom learning translates into impactful work. said John Blumthal, Associate Manager Talent Acquisition - Recruitment Programs at SNC. “Supporting initiatives like this aligns with our commitment to fostering curiosity, building skills, and empowering the next generation to explore and achieve their full potential in careers that matter.”
The experience provided students with a clearer picture of how engineers, cybersecurity specialists, manufacturing teams, and project managers work together to design, test, and maintain complex systems.

Strengthening Pathways for the Future
Engineering Week at CCIC highlights the strength of industry partnerships in preparing students for life beyond high school. By connecting students directly with professionals in the field, Cherry Creek Schools continues to demonstrate its commitment to career-connected learning and ensuring students graduate with both knowledge and opportunity.
