
Patient Care Technician

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) provide essential care to patients, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding. They work under the supervision of registered nurses and other health care professionals in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. PCTs also monitor patients' vital signs, obtain blood samples and perform 12 lead EKG acquisition and identification.
Skills Developed
PCTs gain skills in patient care, such as assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and providing basic medical support. Additionally PCTs perform phlebotomy skills and EKG tests. They also develop strong communication, teamwork, and empathy.
